Even the most experienced Internet users are leery of selling their gold online. Selling your old and used baseball cap, after all, is a lot different from selling precious metal. There is the risk of transacting with an untrustworthy seller or availing the services of an unreliable shipping company. To help you choose a secure and dependable online platform for selling your valuables, check out our reviews of the most popular Internet companies that buy and sell gold. In this article, we’ll be reviewing BrokenGold.com.

Seller Requirements
To consistently provide a legitimate and hassle-free procedure for all its customers, BrokenGold.com chooses to transact only and directly with actual and proven owners of the merchandise. The sellers must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age. BrokenGold.com also chooses not to enter into negotiations with representatives or agents and in certain cases, they reserve the right to ask for additional proof or requirements before proceeding.

Guarantee or Insurance against Loss
Besides the usual insurance policies implemented by the shipping company that is used for delivering your merchandise, BrokenGold.com also implements their own policy for guaranteeing against loss during shipment. To be specific, the website’s liability is limited to one-third of the value of the merchandise or $100, whichever is less. If the customer cannot supply an original sales slip or certified appraisal, the liability shall be limited to $20.

Be aware, however, that BrokenGold.com’s insurance policies will only be implemented if the customer has complied with the website’s requirements and made use of the prepaid Tyvek packaging that the website offers to all its customers for free.

BrokenGold.com may also refuse to accept delivered merchandise that appears to habve been damaged or tampered with. In such cases, the items will be immediately returned to the customer.

If the items a customer wishes to sell are believed to exceed the value of $100, it is recommended that additional insurance is obtained. BrokenGold.com, however, will reimburse the resulting fee.

Accepting Verbal Offers
Customers may request BrokenGold.com to give them a call or send them an email regarding the website’s offer for the items they wish to sell. Upon delivery and appraisal of the items, BrokenGold.com may then make an offer. If this is done by phone, be aware that the website reserves the right to record the call. If the customer verbally agrees to the offer made by phone or email, this shall immediately constitute as a legal and binding acceptance of the deal and BrokenGold.com will send a check corresponding to the agreed amount within twenty-four (24) hours.

When a customer accepts a verbal offer, the standard ten-day customer satisfaction holding period policy will be immediately waived.

Return of Materials
BrokenGold.com certainly allows for returns of items originally intended for sale. When a customer sends his items for appraisal to the website, it will be secured at the company’s processing facility for thirty days beginning from the day of receipt.

If a customer is dissatisfied with the check sent to him for any reason, the customer must return the check within ten business days of the date written on the check and not on the date of receipt. Upon compliance with this policy, BrokenGold.com will then immediately mail the items back to its owner without any charges.
