Complaints regarding sloppy customer service and delayed responses have appeared online, one of which came from a gold seller who decided to sell his gold to AugustusGold.com late last year. Relying on the website's promise of a 24-hour processing time and payment, he had to wait nearly a month to get a reply -- through e-mail, no less. The e-mail message essentially told him that payment would be delayed due to internal financial problems in the company involving a bullion dealer.
It doesn't help that the company even had to drop a representative at a complaints forum purporting to be a satisfied customer. The long post would've been perfect, if only for one thing the writer missed: if you clicked on his name on the forum, it was a direct link to the AugustusGold.com site. That just shows that not only is the whole post an outright lie, it is also a thinly veiled attempt to lure more people into doing business with the website. To top it off, the writer didn’t even bother to cover his tracks. Whoever planned this trick clearly believes that their clients are uninformed and naive.
So what’s the verdict? The claim of AugustusGold.com of being in a financial crisis may be legitimate, which probably explains the reason behind the delays in processing and payments. Smaller payouts are also prioritized – anything below $2,500 will be paid first while payment options will be made for sales above $2,500. That is fair enough. However, if you need cash right now, AugustusGold.com may not be the best choice, particularly if you have plenty of unwanted gold to sell at high value. And the delays in responses don’t really give you solid confidence in the company’s ability to deliver safe, fast and efficient service.
